No, Brand Name eBooks are available in PDF and RTF formats so that you can read them on any PC or laptop.
What is DRM and do Brand Name eBooks have it?
DRM, or Digital Rights Management, is a general term that refers to a scheme meant to restrict users’ access to digital data, including music, literature, software, and books. For publishers, DRM usually means restricting various ways that an ebook can be transferred between devices and users.
At Brand Name Publishing, we believe that it is important for a user to have complete control over his downloaded material. We also realize that in the fluid technology scene, relatively benign DRM can be a big headache for users who legitimately wish to transfer their ebooks to a new format.
Therefore, our books will not be restricted by any DRM.
Does this mean that some people will give copies of our books to their friends (in violation of copyright and halachah), cheating us out of some royalties? Probably. I have a book that I want to publish as an ebook. How do I submit it?
Your book can be submitted to us like any other book. Please read our submission guidelines here. Just like any book, we consider carefully whether your book is appropriate for Brand Name Publishing. If it’s a book we want to publish, we will offer you a contract specially written for our Brand Name eBook branch. If it’s already in print, please make sure you have the rights to publish it in electronic form.
I have an ebook that I want to publish as a print book. Can I submit it?
Of course! We’d be happy to consider any serious submission. We will take into account whether ebook sales will boost or be detrimental to print sales, and whether our print book audience is suitable for your book. Don’t forget that a print book has different requirements and is more labor intensive than an ebook.
